This is a showcase for the need to have a "meh" option instead of recommend or not. The game isn't bad, but it includes a variety of things that are just a bit off from what would be good. The lock on system overrides your ability to direct attacks. Every other game understands if I'm locked onto an enemy in front but hold left on my controller while attacking, I want to attack left. space is too empty and too large because it's a mix of exploration and combat that instead just feels too open. Area transitions I think are too far apart and makes the game feel slowly paced.

All of that though, when doing an exploration section is fun, movement is fun, combat is mostly fun with only a few oddities within' it. But the first section of this is enough and interacted with enough that I would say it is "meh" and not good or bad.

Really tried to like this. The visuals are great, visual world design looks interesting based on the start and has promise of interesting exploration. But...

The writing, voice acting, story approach are just atrociously bad. Based on the beginning there seems to be very limited enemy variety. Combat doesn't feel good. Sure there are plenty of systems and the start spoon feeds tutorial after tutorial section but it all is just so meh (obviously highly subjective).
