Hello soldiers!

Welcome to the release notes for Update 1.20 Operation: Clear Sight! This update features two new sights, new difficult challenges to grind, mod editor improvements, and new cosmetics for both factions!

First things first, take a look at our upcoming new map, Hold, coming next update (Update 1.21 Operation: ███████). Inspired by Ministry, it features a police station caught in a violent takeover by Insurgent forces. WIP images below!

Insurgency's origins are deeply rooted in modding. Starting as a mod for the Source engine, Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat led to a standalone sequel released in 2014 that we’re sure many of you are familiar with, called Insurgency, and then on to Insurgency: Sandstorm.

It's important to remember our roots, and mod support is one way of fulfilling that for the team. We know the modding community has felt left behind in recent years, especially as the release on consoles led our focus to expand. We know the modding tools have been deteriorating.  

This leads us to today. We have been working with many from the modding community over the last two updates to address issues flagged for us as important and to add features that should help make even cooler stuff. This one's been coming for a long time, including addressing requests like access to our Wwise project, which is included in this update. This grants modders more creative freedom when incorporating custom sounds into their projects. A guide is available to help mod creators here[mod.io].

Additionally, we've taken significant steps to improve the content-creation experience in the editor. Modders can now upload mods larger than 2GB directly through the editor. This should help streamline the publishing process. Because the workflow has changed, we've created a guide[mod.io] that walks through the process of creating, uploading, and updating mods.

Finally, we’d like to acknowledge members of the modding community who have stood by us throughout the years. They have spent countless hours creating awesome content that many of you know, including maps from our mapping contest, like Prison and Last Light.

In our previous update, Operation: Shell Shock, we introduced Challenges as a way for players to earn rewards while playing Insurgency: Sandstorm. We’re building on top of that foundation by introducing Tier 3 Challenges. These will raise the bar with more demanding objectives built for those ready to prove their experience and skill.

Here are a few challenges that you can expect to have to grind for:

• Kill 500 enemies with Fire Support as a Commander.

• Win 100 rounds without dying (good luck!).

• Perform 500 headshots with a sidearm.

As the operation name implies, we are  expanding weapon customization by introducing two new CQB-focused optics that can be used across all your existing loadouts. • Fixed an issue where some colour variations could not be applied to the customized items.

• Fixed an issue where there was no light source for the Security faction in the weapon loadout menu on Tell Night.

• Fixed an issue where the MK 18 CQBR had a hole while firing and with an empty magazine in third-person.

• Fixed an issue where the 7x Hunting NV would disappear when focusing at a certain angle with the M1 Garand.

• Fixed an issue where the Goatee and Stubble facial hair on the male Security Rob and Soran heads were not centred on the characters' faces.

• Fixed an issue where the recoil grip bipod attachment was moving forward and back on the weapon when standing up after using the bipod.

• Fixed an issue where the Character’s hand had an unnatural pose and clipping with the SVD from third-person.

• Fixed an issue where there was no delay when the commander called in fire support to the observer.

• Fixed an issue where IED explosions were dealing significantly reduced damage.

• Fixed an issue where mortar fire would instantly impact after fire, landing at the fixed origin point until the end of the level when calling Fire Support using mortar.

• Fixed an issue with an unfair camping spot on Forest Push Insurgents inside the C cap zone.

• Fixed an issue where the weapon cache was less vulnerable to incendiary grenades and rocket launchers.

• Fixed an issue on Ministry Checkpoint Security where bots would get stuck during defence on points D and F.

• Fixed an issue where players could get stuck on a pole when attempting to jump off a wall at a specific location on Hideout.

• Fixed an issue where there was a missing wall section on Farmhouse.

• Fixed an unfair camping spot on Outskirts Ambush on Point A.

• Fixed an exploit on Tell where players could go out of bounds to block the capture of point C.

• Fixed an issue where players could get stuck behind a stack of wood on Forest.

• Fixed an issue where players would see different party members if their Steam and EGS accounts were connected.

• Bomb strike icons are now larger.

• Fixed an issue where the platform name would not match the one specified in the settings.

• Fixed an issue where the horizontal recoil stat wouldn’t change when a drum magazine was attached to US12.

• Fixed an issue where the "Climber" gear set was named "Vandal" in the store tab.

• Fixed an issue where the "Dragon Skin" weapon skin set DLC name was displayed as just "Dragon" in the in-game store.

• Fixed an issue where the Forest Warden and Green Recon DLC names were missing a space between words in the in-game store.

• Fixed an issue where the text chat window would open in Loadout when pressing the left/right button on the D-pad while the map is loading.

• Fixed an issue where the Objective model overlaps the result screen challenges in the Survival game mode.

• Fixed an issue where the unlock pop-ups appeared with a significant delay after purchasing the Gold edition bundle.

• Fixed an issue where the unlock pop-ups would appear with a delay after purchasing the Shell Shock DLC.

• Fixed an issue where the "6x-3x T Scope" on the "M110 SASS" was localized as "Прицел DOS 6x-3x" in Russian in the Loadout menu.

• Fixed an issue where the names of the Observer and Commander classes in the description of the observer static challenge were not translated into languages other than English.

• Fixed an issue where the letter "N" was missing in the text lines "STATIC CHALLENGES" and "WEEKLY CHALLENGES" in English localization.

• Fixed an issue where the party code entry window would open after trying to create a party if you refused to accept the terms of the EULA while joining the party using a code.

• Fixed an issue where the double "Error" window and lack of controller/keyboard navigation would occur when trying to join using an invalid party code after switching accounts.

• Fixed an issue where the modified "Motion Blur" and "Dismemberment" settings would appear as modified if the player cancelled their application.

• Fixed an issue where the “Save Cosmetic Preset” would not pop up if you equipped the Chemical Combat Helmet and tried to save your appearance.

• Implemented the ability to add mods directly to Mod.io.

• Implemented the Wwise project files to the mod editor.

• Fixed an issue where blueprint compile errors would be triggered when playing in PIE.

• Reduced the time to find a match when the “Other input parameters” option is enabled.

• Fixed a crash that occurred when loading replays on Gap.

• Fixed an issue where finding a match would be cancelled after the "Preparing Server" phase.

• Fixed a crash that occurred after 60 minutes of 10v10 gameplay.

• Fixed an issue where the Battleworn & Dissident Bundle could not be unlocked after winning in the Survival game mode.

• Fixed an issue where the Big Spender & Sporty Bundle could not be unlocked after winning in the Ambush game mode.

• Fixed an issue where players would not receive rewards after linking their PROS account.

• Fixed an issue where players below level 2 could not join Frontline mode when all the Rifleman slots were already filled.
