I'm not personally a huge fan of roguelikes(as opposed to my preference of RogueLites(sequential upgrading))

This game is definitely for some and not for others. I enjoyed what I did play of it, but can't see myself ever deep diving into it.

Although this is a fun game and would be great in a vacuum, Rebirth is just way better. I used to play this all the time, then I played Rebirth (and Afterbirth) for about 100 hours before coming back. Hard mode is too hard to be fun, and lots of the oddities can be just crummy. Bad framerate, prevalence of bad items, and a few unfair rooms make it a bit of a chore to play in comparison to Rebirth. Still, I love the music. And one of my favorite strategies in this game wasn't carried over to Rebirth (Book of Revelations + Battery). Overall good, but just play the sequel!
